Robin Hollow Pond Dam
Cumberland, RI

After an inspection, Pare was retained by the Pawtucket Water Supply Board (PWSB) to complete remedial designs for the Robin Hollow Pond Dam.  This aging structure had deteriorating concrete within the spillway, limited hydraulic capacity and visible seepage. Pare evaluated the current conditions and developed alternative approaches to addressing these concerns.

Pare designed a new spillway, a new low level outlet, a stabilized downstream slope, upstream armoring, and armoring of the embankment to facilitate the accommodation of extreme storm events.

The proposed dam improvements provided the opportunity to add aeration to the impoundment for water quality, and relocate the watermain from the toe of the dam to the bridge located downstream.
