Tuxbury Pond Dam
Amesbury, MA

Pare was retained by the Town of Amesbury to evaluate the Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) characteristics as well as the structural stability of the Tuxbury Pond Dam, a 150-foot long, 9-foot high, significant hazard structure that impounds the drinking water supply for the Town of Amesbury.  The drainage area for the dam is approximately 46 square miles and extends through eight communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Pare designed and prepared construction documents for a new spillway system that provided the necessary discharge capacity and the necessary level of control to facilitate efficient regulation for water supply.  In support of the construction, Pare prepared the necessary permit applications, designed required wetland replication areas, and provided construction-phase services.
