Central Bridge (Bridge No. 182) Replacement - Phase I
Barrington, RI

Built in 1939, the existing bridge superstructure consists of nine concrete teebeam spans, approxi-mately 36 feet long each, and laid out in three 3span continuous sections.

Pare was retained by RIDOT to perform engineering services for the rehabilitation or replacement of deficient bridges throughout the state of RI. Pare designed a 324‑foot long,  5‑span prestressed concrete NEXT beam bridge supported on concrete‑filled steel pipe piles.  The designed structure carries three lanes of traffic and two sidewalks. Pare also prepared the construction bid package and is monitoring construction.
