MPTN Phase 7A Housing Project
Mashantucket, CT

Pare was retained by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN) to perform professional engineering and construction-phase services for approximately three miles of new roadway and underground utilities for the development of a new residential community on 144 acres of archaeologically-sensitive tribal land.

The scope of work included extending the existing water and wastewater treatment facilities to provide potable water and sanitary sewage. Other utilities included natural gas, road drainage, communications, electricity, and street lighting.  Structural components of the project included approximately 900 linear feet of retaining walls (up to 15 feet in height) and two culverts at areas of environmental concerns.

The project involved significant participation and coordination with the MPTN Tribal Council, the MPTN Natural Resources Department, and archaeologists assigned to the Tribe.
