Camp Yawgoog OWTS Repairs
Hopkinton, RI

Pare provided design, permitting, and construction services for Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) repairs at the 1,800 acre Yawgoog Scout Reservation to replace existing problematic composting toilet systems.  The repairs were performed to treat and dispose of wastewater from several existing restroom latrines, dining halls, shower facilities, and other ancillary buildings scattered throughout the camp which is used by over 1,500 scouts, group leaders, and camp staff per week.  The repairs are being constructed in phases over several years.

Phase I consisted of the construction of a wastewater collection network for nine existing latrines from the “Medicine Bow” campsite.  Phase II consisted of a wastewater collection network for seven latrines and dining hall in the “Three Point” campsite.  Phase III consisted of installation of a wastewater collection system for a dining hall and nine latrines from the “Sandy Beach” campsite.  Two new leachfields, each 17,320 square feet, were also constructed.  The wastewater collection systems consist of new gravity and pressurized piping, new concrete septic tanks, cleanout manholes, and other appurtenant features.
