Pare Corporation worked with a landscape architect, architect, and contractor to develop a restoration plan for Patriot’s Park and the adjacent Loeb Visitors Center. Patriot’s Park is located at the historic Touro Synagogue, the first Jewish congregation in the United States, dating from 1763.
A study was conducted which included an analysis of environmental conditions and the establishment of guidelines for facility sizing and location within the park. The project included drainage analyses and drainage systems were then designed for both sites. Pare provided complete site planning and civil and environmental engineering services.
The gardens at Patriot’s Park won “First Place for Public Gardens” in the 2009 Newport in Bloom City-Wide Garden Competition. The new center and park welcome visitors to Newport and to the historic synagogue where people can learn more about the history of religious diversity in the United States.
