Pare Corporation performed a feasibility study for parkway and intersection improvements for sections of Birmingham Parkway, Soldiers Field Road Extension, North Beacon Street, and Nonantum Road, in Brighton, MA. The study was performed for the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation and had two primary objectives: to evaluate the existing safety concerns present within the study area and to expand pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.

The initial Site Understanding Phase consisted of field review, data collection including historic traffic counts, and assessment of existing conditions. Recommendations for the various intersections included roundabouts, lane reductions and increased green space, and removal of excess pavement to reduce driver ambiguity. Additionally, Pare prepared cost estimates for each alternative.
