Pare Corporation, as part of a multi-discipline design team, performed extensive traffic studies and engineering design services for the expansion of the Twin River Casino which included renovation of 150,000 SF of existing interior space and the addition of 250,000 SF of new space. Pare’s initial study made recommendations for the installation of four new traffic signals and replacement of one existing traffic signal. A roundabout with both two-lane and single-lane approaches was approved for the primary entrance to the facility.
The project included extensive utility design and coordination with utility companies. Roadway widening to improve traffic capacity, and proposed locations of new traffic signal equipment at intersections necessitated utility pole relocations. Right-of-way easements were required due to the utility pole relocations. Permanent aerial and guy easements were also required. Construction administration, construction observation, and materials testing services were performed by Pare.
Pare was also responsible for layout and site design for 30 “destination” signs for the Casino, as well as design and permitting for a 1,000-space overflow parking lot for facility events.
